BIOGRAPHY

Misty Segura-Bowers is an award winning fine artist and portrait painter known for capturing the beauty and spirit of her subjects in oil and watercolor. Her masterful portraits are recognized for their stunning likeness and luscious blend of abstraction and realism.

Her career began when, as a student at the Academy of Art University, she was hired to create visual effects for Hollywood films. Years spent creating art for the big screen contributed to her cinematic use of light and color, aptitude for realism, and the emotionally captivating quality seen in her work. Misty constantly pushes the boundaries of watercolor and oil with themes exploring the human experience and the interconnection between people, animals and nature. She has been featured in publications including American Art Collector, The Artist’s Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine, and Best of Watercolor presented by Artist’s Magazine.

Misty works and resides in the San Francisco Bay Area along with her husband, daughter, and furry friends.
